New Orleans – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) notifies motorists of a temporary change to the operating schedule of the LA 39 Judge Seeber/Claiborne Ave. Bridge in New Orleans, effective tonight, Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Due to electrical problems with the bridge's raising and lowering mechanism, the bridge will operate on a fixed schedule for vehicles until the issue is fixed.
- The bridge will close to vehicular traffic starting at 10 p.m. Saturday and remain closed throughout the weekend.
- Starting Monday, the bridge will only be open to vehicles during rush hours—6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Outside these times, including weekends, the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic.
- Marine traffic will be able to access the area at all times when vehicle access is not permitted.
- DOTD is working to address the issue and will provide updates as soon as they are available.
- Alternate routes: Florida Ave. Bridge, St. Claude Bridge, and I-510.
Safety Reminder: DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
