DOTD announces start of $6.9M state-funded project on LA 699 in Vermilion Parish

VERMILION PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, August 11, construction will begin on a $6.9 million preservation project on La. 699 from its intersection with La. 35 to its western junction with La. 343.
SCOPE OF WORK The project consists of drainage structures, culvert rehab, soil cement operations, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete overlay, pavement markings, and related work.
WORK SCHEDULE Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS There will be alternating lanes closures throughout this project.
The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone beginning Monday, August 11.
Emergency vehicles will have access to this area but may encounter delays.
The project is estimated for completion by March of 2026.
