***UPDATE***Closure: E. College Street between Fifth Ave. and Kingham Road – Calcasieu Parish

UPDATE: The start date of this closure has been changed to Monday, July 28, 2025.
Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced there will be a FULL closure on East College Street between Fifth Avenue and Kingham Road, starting Monday, July 28, 2025, through Friday, August 22, 2025.
The closure is necessary for crews to make subsurface drainage repairs.
Detour routes:
- Motorists heading westbound on College St. will take Fifth Avenue north to East Prien Lake Road, westbound to Texas St., then south to College St.
- Motorists heading eastbound on College Street will take Texas St. north to East Prien Lake Road, east to Fifth Avenue, then south to College St.
(Note: The closure area is marked in RED. The detour route is in BLUE.)

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
