DOTD announces project to repair a section of US 371 in Bienville Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to improve a sizable length of US 371 through Bienville Parish.
Preliminary work recently began on the $13.1 million project, which will provide full-depth patching, milling to remove the old asphalt, and new layers of asphalt to extend the service life of 12 miles of highway, connecting communities like Ringgold and others.
Full-depth patching addresses damaged sections of roadway down to the base to strengthen these sections, and is then followed by milling (removal of old asphalt) and replacement of new layers of asphalt.
This work will require intermittent lane closures to allow the contractor, Madden Contracting, Co., to safely proceed with construction.
The entire project is anticipated to wrap up in late 2025, weather and other factors permitting.
