DOTD announces project to replace the LA 540 bridge in Homer, Claiborne Parish The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to remove and replace the existing LA 540 bridge over an unnamed waterway in the Town of Homer in Claiborne Parish.
The $703,278 project is currently in the utility relocation phase, with the power company (Entergy) in the process of moving an overhead line at the project site.
The existing structure, located just west of the intersection with US 79 and built in 1958, will be removed and replaced with box culverts.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late Fall 2025, weather and other factors permitting.
Restrictions/Permits: The existing bridge is already closed, so the detour route is already established and signed.
Alternate Route: Detour route is already marked with appropriate signage.
