EMERGENCY LANE CLOSURE: I-220 westbound near Lakeshore Dr., Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Thursday, July 11, 2025, the inside (left) lane of I-220 westbound between the Cross Lake Bridge and Lakeshore Drive interchange will be closed.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is necessary for emergency roadway repair.

Periods of extreme heat can cause concrete pavement to expand, resulting in buckling at the roadway joints that can occur quickly and without warning. DOTD crews are prepared to address these ‘blow-ups’, as they’re commonly referred to.
