LANE CLOSURE: LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Bridge) over Red River, Caddo/Bossier Parishes
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20, 2025, the LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Bridge) over the Red River in Caddo & Bossier Parishes will be reduced to one lane.
This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, and is necessary for routine bridge inspection.
This bridge is located approximately 0.7 miles west of US 71. (see included map).
Please note that this area is also an active construction zone due to the ongoing Jimmie Davis Bridge replacement project, so drivers should be alerted to crews and equipment in the vicinity.
Restrictions/Permits: This lane closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: LA 1 to LA 3032 (Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge) to US 71
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
