DOTD to convert 3 intersections on US 80 to ALL-WAY stop control, Richland Parish Due to the increased traffic in the area of the new Meta data center development site in Richland Parish, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces plans to convert the following intersections to all-way stop control:
- US 80 @ LA 183, Holly Ridge, Richland Parish
- US 80 @ LA 583, Bee Bayou, Richland Parish
- US 80 @ LA 609, Dunn, Richland Parish
This new traffic configuration will go into effect the week of July 9, 2025, weather permitting.
The intersections are currently two-way stop controlled intersections. After the change the US 80 approaches will also be required to stop at the intersections. Rumble strips will be installed along US 80 along with warning signs, message boards, stop bars, and oversized stop signs.
This change comes as the result of a traffic engineering study conducted by the traffic engineering consultant hired by the developer for Meta. The study showed that as traffic increases, traffic signals are recommended at all of these intersections. The all-way stop control is an interim measure to assist with traffic control until the traffic signals can be installed at these intersections.
