PROJECT UPDATE: LA 30 Roundabouts - Ascension Parish

GONZALES, La. -The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces continued progress on the LA 30 roundabout project in Ascension Parish.
Construction is ongoing at the roundabout located at St. Landry Avenue and Robert Wilson Drive. Once drainage crossings at this location are complete, crews will begin demolition of the original section of LA 30 from which traffic has recently been rerouted.
As drainage and demolition work advance over the coming weeks, the contractor is preparing to begin construction on the two roundabouts at the I-10 interchange. Completion of key components at the St. Landry and Robert Wilson roundabout was necessary before work could begin on this next phase.
During early phases of the project, crews encountered underground utility conflicts that required resolution. However, the interstate roundabouts will not require deep excavation or trenching, and the contractor anticipates fewer utility-related delays in that area.
The overall project remains on schedule and is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
