The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 9:00 am the northbound I-20 on-ramps from US 165 will be closed to all traffic.
The closure is necessary for statewide sign crews to replace the overhead guide signs on the ramps.
The closure is expected to last approximately 4-6 hours and should be opened back to travel the same day.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed/ramp’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Restrictions/Permits:
Both eastbound and westbound on ramps from US 165 to enter I-20 traveling northbound (from the south) will be closed. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route:
Detour signage will be in place. The signed detour will be to continue north on US 165 and make the u-turn just south of US 80 to go back south towards I-20. Both eastbound and westbound on ramps for southbound traffic will remain open.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
