UPDATE: The second Plaquemine Ferry is back in service.
Plaquemine Ferry update
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises the traveling public that the second Plaquemine Ferry is out of service until further notice due to a mechanical malfunction.
Another update will be issued when additional information on the status of the second ferry is available.
