DOTD announces upcoming Metairie Rd. resurfacing work in Jefferson Parish

Jefferson Parish, LA. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that work will begin on Monday, June 23, on a $2.8 million resurfacing project for LA 611-9/Metairie Rd in Jefferson Parish. The work will take place between US 61/Airline Hwy and the 17th St. Canal Bridge at the Orleans Parish line.
Scope of Work The project will include asphalt and concrete patching, resurfacing, tree trimming, traffic signalization, and pavement striping.
Travel Impacts Metairie Rd will remain open at all times, with flagging operations in place during work hours. Drivers should expect delays during work hours and are encouraged to allow extra time for travel. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area, although they may experience delays.
Work Hours Work will primarily occur from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lane closures are restricted during weekday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and weekday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Some weekend work is anticipated, and there will be no lane restrictions on weekends.
Estimated Completion The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
