LA 1 Port Allen Canal Bridge Replacement (Phase II) – West Baton Rouge Parish
TRAFFIC ADVISORY – LA 1/I-10 EASTBOUND TRAFFIC SHIFT TO NEW DIVERSION ROAD
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists that beginning Thursday Night, June 12, 2025, LA 1 Northbound traffic currently utilizing the existing LA 1 Northbound bridge to exit onto I-10 Eastbound will be diverted to the newly constructed I-10 Eastbound Exit Ramp, located on the north side of the new LA 1 Bridge. This traffic pattern will remain in place until further notice to accommodate ongoing construction activities.
As part of this phase, the existing LA 1 Northbound bridge will be permanently closed to traffic and barricaded with temporary concrete barriers to facilitate full demolition.
Motorists should expect advance warning signs and portable message boards in the area to guide traffic through the new configuration. Please be advised that travel delays are possible, especially during peak commuting hours. DOTD urges all drivers to reduce speed, obey posted signage, and remain alert for construction personnel and equipment operating in the work zone.
