DOTD announces project to replace La. 94 Bridge in Lafayette Parish

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that construction is underway on a $6.9M project to replace the La. 94 Bridge over the Vermilion River.
SCOPE OF WORK The project consists of clearing and grubbing, removal of bridge, grading, drainage structures, asphalt concrete roadway, precast concrete piles, slab span bridge, and related work. .
WORK SCHEDULE Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS The road will be open to regular traffic. However, restrictions may be in place when traffic is switched to the detour bridge. A press release will be sent to

The project is estimated for completion by winter of 2026.
