UPDATE - REOPENED: DOTD to replace culvert under LA 1 in Vivian, Caddo Parish
(UPDATE 6/20/2025): DOTD advises motorists that the work to place a culvert under the roadway on LA 1 in Vivian, north Caddo Parish is complete and the highway has been REOPENED to traffic.

Original notification - 6/4/2025:
CADDO PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to replace a culvert that is located under the roadway of LA 1 near the Town of Vivian in north Caddo Parish.
The $179,096 project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9, 2025, and will require a full closure of LA 1 to allow for construction to safely and efficiently proceed.
This culvert is located between Northside Lane and W. Milner Street. (see included map) During the closure, motorists will be detoured via LA 2, US 71, and Mira Myrtis Road, with signage in place directing drivers through the detour.
The project involves removing the existing culvert that is no longer functioning properly, and replacing with a new one. The roadway will then be repaired with new asphalt paving and striping.
This type of work ensures proper drainage, allowing water to flow safely under the roadway, and helps prevents flooding and damage.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in August 2025, weather and other factors permitting.
