Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that both directions of I-110 in Baton Rouge near the Governor’s Mansion curve will close tonight, May 30. The closure is necessary so crews can remove a derailed train on the railroad bridge above the interstate. The I-110 closure is expected to begin at 7:00 tonight, and the interstate will be closed between Capitol Access Rd. and N. 22nd St.
Once the train is removed, inspectors will immediately inspect the bridge and roadway to ensure everything is safe for travel once again. The interstate closure is expected to last several hours. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I-110 is expected to reopen Saturday during the early morning hours.
