UPDATE - LA 17 near Delhi, Richland Parish


(UPDATE 6/9/2026): The Town of Delhi will be closing LA 17 on Monday 6/15/2026 to make necessary repairs at this location. This is south of the US 80 / LA 17 intersection about 75 foot south of the railroad crossing. No through traffic on LA 17 and there is a signed detour along US 80 / LA 609 / I-20 around this site. This is projected to reopen on Tuesday 6/16/2026.

(UPDATE 7/11/2025):
DOTD advises motorists that the Town of Delhi has completed their drainage work and LA 17 has been reopened to traffic.

Original notification - May 29, 2025:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning Wednesday, June 4, 2025, LA 17 will be closed to thru traffic. This closure is located approximately 1.0 mile north of I-20 in Richland Parish.

This closure is necessary to allow The Town of Delhi, to make drainage improvement in the downtown area.

DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.

Restrictions/Permits:

Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route:

A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. The signed detour will be US 80 to LA 609 to I-20

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
