DOTD announces start of $4.7M state-funded project on La. 13 in Acadia Parish

ACADIA PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, June 2, 2025, construction will begin on a $4.7 million project that will include a 3.9-mile section of La. 13 from 0.2 miles north of the Vermilion Parish line to its intersection with Faulk Road.
SCOPE OF WORK The project will include clearing and grubbing, drainage structures, milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, roadway reinforcing mesh, asphalt concrete overlay and related work.
TRAVEL IMPACTS Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work, therefore, drivers should expect delays. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 14-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access through this area but may encounter delays.
The project is estimated for completion in winter 2025/2026.
