***NOW OPEN: LA 581 in East Carroll Parish***
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, a section of LA 581 in East Carroll Parish is closed until further notice.
This closure is located approximately 1.5 miles east of LA 134, and is necessary to allow for the replacement of a cross drain that is impacting the integrity of the roadway.
The closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be open Friday, June 6, 2025.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
