UPDATE: The alternating lane closures have been extended through Friday, November 7, 2025.
Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced there will be alternating lane closures on LA 397 Northbound and Southbound from US 90 to Interstate 10, starting Friday, May 9, 2025, through Friday, November 7, 2025.
The work is necessary for crews to complete permanent striping along LA 397. There is a 10-foot width restriction on LA 397 NB and SB.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
