UPDATE - ROAD CLOSURE: LA 175 south of Kingston, DeSoto Parish (UPDATE 9/16/2025): DOTD advises motorists that beginning on Monday, September 22, 2025, the previously announced closure on LA 175 will reopen to traffic, and the contractor will move to a second location that will require a road closure for the purpose of repairing a headwall at a box culvert.
This work is considered to be part of the same 30 day closure noted in the previous update. This closure is located approximately 2.9 miles south of the Relay Station near I-49. (see included map)
This closure is anticipated to be reopened by Sept. 30, 2025, at which time LA 175 will be fully opened to traffic, with construction ongoing on the asphalt overlay portion of work.
All work is dependent on weather conditions and other factors that may impact construction timelines.

UPDATE - ROAD CLOSURE: LA 175 south of Kingston, DeSoto Parish (UPDATE 8/22/2025): DOTD advises motorists that beginning on Friday, August 29, 2025, a section of LA 175 in DeSoto Parish will be closed as part of an ongoing asphalt overlay project.
This closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately 30 days, and is necessary to allow the contractor to repair the headwall on a culvert located under the roadway.
This closure is located approximtely 1.6 miles north of the intersection with LA 3015 (see included map). Detour signage will be in place.

Original notification - 5/2/2025:
DESOTO PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is investing $11.2 million to improve a section of LA 175 in DeSoto Parish.
The project stretches on LA 175 from LA 509 just north of Mansfield to LA 5 at the Kingston community, which is about 10.5 miles of roadway improvements.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin in on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Motorists should plan for intermittent lane closures going into place to allow the contractor to safely and efficiently conduct construction activities.
The project includes full-depth repairs to address the roadway base at various locations, milling to remove the old asphalt, new asphalt paving on the entire project length, and permanent signage and roadway striping.
Please drive cautiously through the work zone, adhering to the post speed limit and never driving while distracted or impaired.
The entire project is estimated to be complete in Spring 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
