EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE: LA 764 north of Logansport, DeSoto Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, a section of LA 764 in DeSoto Parish is closed until further notice.
This closure is necessary to due to the failure of a cross drain pipe that is located under the roadway.
This pipe is located approximately 0.2 miles south of the LA 764 intersection with LA 765. (see attached map)
Currently, there is no timeline on reopening the roadway, though DOTD is working on obtaining funding to be able to replace the cross drain pipe.
DOTD will issue an update when additional information becomes available.
Restrictions/Permits: Road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
