Road closures: LA 378 SB (Sampson St.) and I-10 WB on-ramp from LA 378 (Sampson St.) – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the following closures are scheduled between the hours of 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, through 5 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025.
Full Road and Ramp Closure:
- LA 378 SB from LA 379 to I-10 South Service Road/Horseshoe Blvd., including closure of the I-10 WB on ramp.
Partial Ramp Closure:
- I-10 Exit 27 off ramp to LA 378 will allow for NB turns only. Follow detour route for Horseshoe Blvd.
Detour route: (for motorists attempting to enter I-10 WB from LA 378, along with motorists attempting to go southbound on LA 378)
- At the intersection of LA 378 and LA 379, take LA 379 (Sulphur Avenue) until LA 379 turns onto Miller Avenue. Continue along LA 379 to Horseshoe Boulevard. Continue straight until the I-10 Eastbound entrance ramp on I-10 Service Road. Once on I-10, head east, take Exit 29 (North Lakeshore Drive). Take Lakeshore Drive to the intersection with Veterans Memorial. Continue along North Lakeshore Drive to the I-10 Westbound on-ramp.
These closures are necessary for mill and overlay procedures as well as drainage inspection and jetting operations in the areas stated above.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
