UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 146 bridge over Caney Creek near Homer, Claiborne Parish
(UPDATE 5/29/2025): DOTD advises motorists that the LA 146 bridge over Caney Creek near Homer in Claiborne Parish has been REOPENED to traffic.
We appreciate the patience of the traveling public while these repairs were underway.

Original notification - 4/2/2025:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Thursday, April 3, 2025, the LA 146 bridge over Caney Creek, just south of the town of Homer in Claiborne Parish will be closed.
This bridge, which was built in 1966, is being closed until further notice due to the condition of the structure. It is located approximately 1.4 miles east of the intersection with US 79 (see attached map).
The bridge is scheduled to be replaced as part of a future project, which is currently in the early design phase.
Additional information will be provided as the project moves through the development process and closer to the construction phase.
Motorists should be prepared for a long-term closure, and plan their routes accordingly.
Restrictions/Permits: Full road closure at the specified location.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
