The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, March, 31, 2025, the LA 151 Bridge over Cockerel Creek will be closed to thru traffic.
This bridge is located approximately 1.25 miles north of its intersection with LA 837, north of Calhoun, in Ouachita Parish.
This bridge closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance.
The LA 151 bridge closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be reopened Friday, April 11, 2025.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour:
The detour route will be LA 151, I-20 and LA 145.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
