Project update: I-210 Hurricane Laura lighting repairs – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that lane closures associated with the Interstate 210 Hurricane Laura lighting repair project are ongoing.
Starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, the left lane of I-210 Westbound over the Prien Lake Bridge just east of Cove Lane will be closed. The Cove Lane exit will remain open while this work is being completed.
This lane closure will remain in place for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be complete by September 2025, weather permitting.
A full NIGHTLY closure of I-210 WB over the Prien Lake Bridge will start on Friday, March 14, 2025, until Thursday, March 20, 2025. The closures will be in effect nightly from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. The closures are necessary for crews to install a concrete barrier.
Detour route:
- During the full nightly I-210 WB closures, motorists can detour via I-10 WB.
An 11-foot width restriction will be in place during the project.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
