LA 44 (ST. JAMES PARISH) ROAD CLOSURE - UPDATED DATES

LA 44 (ST. JAMES PARISH) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of a road closure on LA 44/River Road.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025 and Sunday, March 2, 2025 LA 44/River Road will be closed from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily between South Willow Street and Veterans Memorial Bridge entry/exit ramps.
This closure is necessary to perform construction and modifications on the overhead conveyor belt structure.
Detour routes for this closure are:
When traveling Eastbound on Hwy 44 (River Road) in Gramercy, LA, turn left onto Hwy 3274. Remain on Hwy 3274 then turn Right onto Hwy 3125. Remain on Hwy 3125 then turn Right onto Hwy 3213. Take Hwy 3213 and turn Right onto the Hwy 44 (River Road) exit going towards the River Road. Turn Left to continue Eastbound on Hwy 44 (River Road).
When traveling Westbound on Hwy 44 (River Road) approaching Gramercy, LA, turn right onto Hwy 3213 Northbound. Remain on Hwy 3213 then turn left onto Hwy 3125. Remain on Hwy 3125 then turn left onto Hwy 3274. Remain on Hwy 3274 then turn Right and continue traveling Westbound on Hwy 44 (River Road).
Raw Sugar Truck traffic will be allowed through from WB LA HWY 44 (River Road). Permit loads over 25’ wide should call the permit office for alternate routes.
