US90B Harvey Canal Tunnel Rehabilitation Project Update

Jefferson Parish, La. - The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is providing an update on the $54 million Harvey Canal Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
- Both directions of the US 90B/Harvey Canal Tunnel will be closed beginning Friday, July 25, 2025.
- The eastbound Harvey Tunnel, open for the past few months, will enter the final phase of rehabilitation starting July 25 and stay closed until the work is completed in the first quarter of 2026.
- The westbound Harvey Tunnel, which has been closed for several months, is set to finish its final electrical work within the next few weeks and will reopen permanently to the public by the end of August this year.
- Work includes new roadway approaches and driving surfaces, upgraded lighting, advanced fire detection, improved drainage, and custom tile work, among other upgrades.
