UPDATE - RESCHEDULED: LA 523 (Line Avenue) at the UP RR crossing, Caddo Parish

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Saturday, January 11, 2025, LA 523 (Line Avenue) at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing near LA 3132 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish will be closed.
This closure is anticipated to last from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. for one day, and is necessary to allow crews from Union Pacific to perform maintenance to the railroad crossing.
This crossing is located just north of the intersection with Ashley Ridge Blvd. (see included map)
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to use an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
