UPDATE – NOW OPEN: Old Minden Road (LA 72) westbound on-ramp at I-20, Bossier Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the Old Minden Road (LA 72) westbound on-ramp at the I-20 interchange in Bossier City is now OPEN to traffic following a full reconstruction.

The other three ramps at the interchange were reopened to traffic on October 15th.

The opening of all four ramps marks an important milestone for the project, which is the first extensive reconstruction of its kind for this particular section of I-20, which stretches from near Hamilton Road to Industrial Drive in Bossier City.

As a reminder, the Industrial Drive (LA 782-2) interchange is also being reconstructed at this time, with much of the roadway base in place in preparation for concrete paving operations to begin soon.

The entire project is still on track to wrap up in late 2025, weather permitting.

The I-20 project webpage provides a variety of resources and updates as work progresses. To access that page, click here.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
