DOTD improves safety with all-way stop conversion at intersection in Longwood, Caddo Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the intersection of LA 169 (Greenwood Mooringsport Road) and Blanchard Furrh Road in the community of Longwood, Caddo Parish will be converted from a 2-way to an all-way stop beginning on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
This change in traffic configuration comes as a result of a traffic study that included a crash history and sight distance analysis. The data indicated the need to covert the intersection to an all-way stop in order to improve safety.
Motorists should be aware of the new configuration, remove all distractions while driving, and be aware of their surroundings and any changing conditions.
Studies have shown that converting an intersection to an all-way stop has the potential to reduce crashes at certain locations.
