Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that law enforcement will divert traffic along Interstate 10 Eastbound and Westbound to Interstate 210 to allow for the implosion of the Capital One Tower in Lake Charles. The diversion along I-10 will occur just before the implosion, which is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024.

During the scheduled implosion, motorists will not be allowed to enter I-10. The diversion will be lifted soon after the implosion, once an all-clear is given.

Additionally, LA 1262 (Veterans Memorial Boulevard) will be closed at Pryce Street, starting at 6:30 a.m. September 7, 2024. The roadway will be reopened once clean-up is completed after the implosion.
