UPDATE - RESCHEDULED: LANE CLOSURES for crash attenuator repair, Caddo Parish (UPDATE 9/16/2024): DOTD advises motorists that nighttime lane closures have been rescheduled for the below locations in Shreveport, Caddo Parish for the purpose of crash attenuator repair:
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 - 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - I-20 Westbound at Exit 18D (Common St/Line Ave)
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 - 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - LA 1 Northbound (Spring St) ramp onto I-20 eastbound
A crash attenuator, also known as an impact attenuator, is a device intended to reduce the damage to structures, vehicles, and lessen injuries to motorists resulting from a collision. These devices are designed to absorb the colliding vehicle’s energy. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
(UPDATE 9/9/2024): DOTD advises motorists that due to potential inclement weather as a result of Tropical Storm Francine, these closures have been postponed. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on the night of Monday, September 10, 2024, lane closures have been scheduled for the below locations in Shreveport, Caddo Parish for the purpose of crash attenuator repair:
- I-20 westbound at Exit 18D (Common Street/Line Avenue)
- LA 1 (Spring Street) northbound ramp onto I-20 eastbound
These nighttime lane closures will take place from approximately 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for one night.
