New Orleans—The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists that the barrier blocking the inner lane of the Crescent City Connection Westbound Bridge (US 90B) will be removed over the next two nights. On Thursday and Friday, double lane closures will be in effect from 7 PM to 4 AM. All work is weather permitting.
Please take note of the following schedule for the Westbound Bridge:

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE (left lane) of the US 90B CCC WB Bridge. The three right lanes will be open for traffic.
Friday, August 30: 7 PM – 4 AM:
- DOUBLE LANE CLOSURE (left two lanes) of the US 90B CCC WB Bridge to remove the concrete barriers. The two right lanes will be open for traffic.
All lanes on the CCC Westbound bridge and the Magazine Street on-ramp will reopen to traffic at 4 AM on Saturday, August 31.
Additional Notes:
- The project has implemented an innovative traffic management system to assist drivers during lane closures. It features digital message signs to inform motorists in real time of changing conditions ahead, such as slowing or stopping traffic.
- In an emergency involving necessary evacuation, the contractor will remove any barriers within an allotted period to allow full access to travel lanes. If this were to occur, DOTD would release information on timing to the public as soon as possible.
Safety Notice:
DOTD deeply appreciates your patience and understanding during this necessary closure. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we are working diligently to finish this project as quickly and safely as possible. We kindly remind motorists to drive cautiously through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment; ensuring everyone's safety is our top priority.
