UPDATE - INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES: LA 3 (Benton Road) near Douglas Drive, Bossier Parish
(UPDATE 9/13/2024): Please be advised that motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures along the below referenced portion of LA 3 (Benton Road) in Bossier City for the purpose of roadway striping operations.
These nighttime lane closures will take place for approximately the next two weeks in preparation for the opening of the newly constructed Walter O. Bigby Carriageway.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 3 (Benton Road) northbound and southbound between Shed Road and Douglas Drive in Bossier City.
These lane closures are anticipated to last approximately four weeks, and are necessary to allow the contractor for the ongoing Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project to install the traffic signal and striping in preparation for the opening of the newly constructed roadway.
The lane closures will be opened to traffic at the end of each work day.
As a reminder, this project is being managed by the City of Bossier City. Inquiries about the project itself should be directed to the city.
