DOTD updates the public on projects that may impact school traffic in the Baton Rouge area

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists of ongoing construction projects in the area that may impact travel times as schools return to session in the Baton Rouge region.

Here is an update on ongoing projects on state and federal routes that may impact school traffic for August 2024:

Ascension Parish

LA 30 @ Tanger/Cabela’s Pkwy.:

Lane Restrictions:
  • Robert Wilson Rd. & St. Landry Ave closed
Assumption Parish

LA 308 (Victoria Street to LA 1011)

Lane Restrictions:
  • Alternating lane closures in both directions
LA 308 (LA 1010 to LA 1011)

Lane Restrictions:
  • Full road closure beginning 8:30 AM 8/15 through 5 PM 8/18
East Baton Rouge Parish

LA 30 (Nicholson Drive) South Blvd. to Chimes St.:

Lane Restrictions:
  • No lane restrictions
LA 73 (Jefferson Highway) US 61-Essen Lane:

Lane Restrictions:
  • Inside lane closures in both directions from Patridge Ln. to Floynell Dr. beginning 7/25 through 8/16.
Iberville Parish

LA 77 @ Bayou Grosse Tete Bridge

Lane Restrictions:
  • Bridge closed until further notice for repairs
St. James Parish

HWY 44 (Ory Street to Hotard Road)

Lane Restrictions:
  • Southbound lane closure scheduled for the following dates between 7 AM-5 PM
- 8/10-8/12
- 8/28
- 8/29

LA 18 (St. James Co-Op Street to Falgoust Street)

Lane Restrictions:
  • Northbound lane closure scheduled for the following dates between 7 AM- 5 PM
- 8/5-8/9
- 8/12
- 8/13

West Baton Rouge Parish

LA 987 (Plantation Avenue Loop to LA 1 Northbound)

Lane Restrictions:
  • Northbound lanes closure scheduled for the following dates between 9 AM-3 PM
- 8/5-8/31
