US 90 Pearl River Bridges - Notice of Availability

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY Four (4) HISTORIC BRIDGES FOR ALTERNATE USE US 90 PEARL RIVER BRIDGES ST TAMANY PARISH, LOUISIANA The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), conjunction with the Federal Highway Adminstration is preparing to remove four US 90 Pearl River Bridges (Project Nos. H.015138/H.000284) for potential replacement. The bridges cross four channels of the Old Pearl River system between White Kitchen and the Mississippi Boarder, not including the border swing span bridge.
All four (4) bridges were determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).The West Pearl River Bridge (Recall 058710) is a vertical lift span, built in 1933. The West Middle Pearl River Bridge (Recall 058720), Middle Middle Pearl River Bridge (Recall 058730), and the East Middle Pearl River Bridge (Recall 058740), are all steel low pony truss structures built in 1933.
Under the Section 106 Programmatic Agreement for Treatment of Louisiana Historic Bridges, these bridges are deemed not suitable for rehabilitation and no longer meet transportation needs. LADOTD is making these bridges available for relocation and adaptive reuse prior to their removal.
