Baton Rouge, La- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the completion of the rehabilitation work on the girders and underside of the bridge structure on the I-12 westbound flyover to I-10 eastbound in Baton Rouge. As part of the project, a fresh coat of navy paint has been applied to the steel girders, giving the bridge a new appearance.

The navy paint hue chosen for the girders is part of the paint color selection for the I-10 corridor project in Baton Rouge. As part of this process, different shades of gray will be applied in the future to other bridge elements, complementing the navy paint color designated for the girders.

The College Drive Flyover Project is a significant step towards enhancing the transportation infrastructure in the area. It involves the creation of a dedicated exit ramp at College Drive for all I-10 and I-12 westbound traffic. This new ramp will greatly improve safety and efficiency for travelers, providing a smoother and more convenient travel experience.

Upon completion, the overpass will become part of I-10 westbound, flying over I-12 eastbound and the re-aligned I-12 westbound lanes. Additionally, the overpass will carry College Drive-bound traffic from I-10 westbound to a separated ramp, accommodating exit traffic from I-12 westbound as well. This strategic design will enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area.

The College Drive Flyover Project is estimated to be complete in early 2025, weather permitting, with a total cost of $52 million.
