UPDATE - REOPENED: US 167 to I-49 north on-ramp off Purple Heart Bridge, Rapides Parish
UPDATE: DOTD advises motorists that this ramp has been REOPENED.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, the US 167 to I-49 north on-ramp coming off the Purple Heart Bridge in Alexandria, Rapides Parish is closed as the result of a crash.
Private towing crews that are conducting clean-up operations will resume debris removal tomorrow morning, May 15th.
Restrictions/Permits: Total ramp closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Motorists traveling southbound on US 167 wishing to access I-49 northbound are encouraged to proceed to the intersection of US 167 and US 165, and proceed southbound on US 165 to US 71, and continue on US 71 to I-49.
