UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 9, Bienville Parish
(UPDATE 5/10/2024): DOTD advises motorists that LA 9 at the below referenced location in Bienville Parish has been REOPENED.

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, a portion of LA 9 in Bienville Parish is closed for the safety of motorists due to a gas well blowout.
The closure is located between LA 507 and Bailey Road, and will be in place until further notice. (see included map)
Local traffic will be allowed access. The roadway is closed to through traffic.
DOTD reminds the traveling public that is unlawful and extremely unsafe to drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
