Tangipahoa Parish, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development updates driving conditions in the greater Northshore area.
- Dozens of trees that fell on state and federal highways today have been cleared by DOTD personnel.
- Most roadways are clear; however, with standing water scattered throughout the area, DOTD advises that residents only drive if necessary this evening.
- Interstates 10, 12, 55, and 59 are open in the Northshore region.
- Except for US 190 West Service Rd. south of LA State Police Troup L, all previously flooded roadways have reopened to traffic.
- Due to tornado damage, the intersection at US 11 and Kostmayer Ave. in Slidell will need extensive work. DOTD has installed temporary measures to assist traffic, but the traffic light system must be replaced.
- Several traffic lights are not functioning correctly and need to be reset by traffic crews. DOTD is aware of the malfunctions and is repairing them individually. Some lights will not be reset by this evening, so motorists are advised to drive cautiously at intersections with blinking lights.
- Several of the area welcome centers are currently shut down due to a loss of power or low water pressure. They will reopen as power and water pressure return.
- DOTD will provide updates as information becomes available.
