BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces scheduled construction activities and anticipated traffic impacts. As always, these anticipated impacts are weather-permitting and subject to potential changes.
Weekday Daytime Schedule (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
· Monday, 4/8: LA 23 southbound right lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Wednesday, 4/10: LA 23 southbound right lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Thursday, 4/11: LA 23 southbound right lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
Weekday Evening Schedule (7:30 PM - 5:00 AM)
· Monday, 4/8: LA 23 southbound left lane closed From Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Tuesday, 4/9: LA 23 southbound & northbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Wednesday, 4/10: LA 23 southbound & northbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Thursday, 4/11: LA 23 southbound & northbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Friday 4/12: LA 23 southbound & northbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
Weekend Daytime Schedule (7:ooAM - 5:00PM)
· Saturday, 4/6: LA 23 southbound BOTH lanes closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd., resulting in two-way traffic on the northbound / "old" Belle Chasse Bridge.
Weekend Evening Schedule (7:30 PM - 5:00 AM)
· Saturday, 4/6: LA 23 southbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
· Saturday, 4/13: LA 23 southbound left lane closed from Engineers Rd. to Barriere Rd.
West X Street Drainage Schedule (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
· 4/8 - 4/10: work to be conducted at the corner of Engineers Rd. and West X St., resulting in intermittent lane closures in that area.
· 4/11-4/15 : work to be conducted on the shoulder of West X St., resulting in intermittent lane closures on West X St.
· 4/16: work to be conducted on the West X St. crossing, resulting in the closure of BOTH lanes in the area just before the intersection of West X St. and Engineers Rd. Local traffic will be allowed to traverse the area as construction activities safely allow, and traffic to use driveways inside the right of way as access while the crossing is being constructed.
