Monday, April 15, 2024 at 3:25:03 PM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) recently announced the groundbreaking of H.010960 which is comprised of constructing three new roundabouts along LA 30 in Ascension Parish. The project involves the construction of three roundabouts strategically located along LA 30 at the intersections of I-10 westbound, I-10 eastbound, and St. Landry Avenue.
The first phase of this project is set to take place on April 11, 2024 which includes the temporary closing of St. Landry Ave and Robert Wilson Rd. This phase will also shift traffic inward on LA 30 in the vicinity of the Robert Wilson/St. Landry Intersection. The project will remain in this phase for 6-9 months while the contractor constructs portions of the new roadway and installs drainage structures. Robert Willson Rd. and St. Landry Ave. will remain closed over the next several phases of the project, approximately 18 months, weather permitting.
LA 30 will have alternating single lane closures in both directions at South Robert Wilson Rd. This closure will occur between 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 and 5:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, weather permitting. This closure is to install temporary striping.
During this phase motorists will not be able to turn on to Robert Wilson Rd. or St. Landry Ave. from LA 30.
The detour for motorists traveling north on St. Landry Ave. trying to access LA 30 includes turning right on Outfitters Dr. then a left on to Cabela’s Parkway which takes you to a signalized intersection at LA 30.
The detour for motorists traveling East on N. Robert Wilson Rd. trying to access LA 30 includes turning right on to Isom Sanders Rd. prior to getting to Robert Wilson Rd. then travel south on Isom Sanders Rd. to LA 30.
Motorists should expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the work zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
For additional information regarding any of these closures please contact the Project Engineer, Marc Dunn, at (225) 612-4216.
