EXTENDED!! Sorrel Bridge over Bayou Teche, St. Mary Parish, Bridge Closure

UPDATE: This closure has been extended until Monday, June 17, 2024, weather permitting.
The Sorrel Bridge over Bayou Teche will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, April 1 until Friday, May 24, 2024, weather permitting.
This closure is necessary for crews to perform hydraulic repairs, repair span motors, shim the bridge and mount structural steel under the roadway.
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.
Detour will consist of LA 182, LA 670 (Adeline Bridge), LA 87 and LA 671.
This closure will take place only after the Katy Bridge in St. Mary Parish is opened to vehicular traffic on Monday, April 1, 2024.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
