Plaquemine/Sunshine ferry to be closed March 16

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is advising motorists that the Plaquemine/Sunshine ferry will be closed on Saturday, March 16. The closure is necessary for crews to replace a landing barge in need of repairs. Service is expected to resume as usual on Sunday, March 17.

Motorists can find the latest status of the ferry by calling 511, visiting www.511la.org, or using the Louisiana 511 mobile app. Motorists can also visit the DOTD website at www.dotd.la.gov and select the “Find ferry & bridge status?” link on the right of the homepage.
