Second Plaquemine/Sunshine ferry temporarily out of service

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is advising motorists that the second Plaquemine/Sunshine ferry is currently out of service until further notice due to a mechanical issue. The regular ferry continues to run as scheduled.

Motorists can find the latest status of the ferry by calling 511, visiting www.511la.org, or using the Louisiana 511 mobile app. Motorists can also visit the DOTD website at www.dotd.la.gov and select the “Find ferry & bridge status?” link on the right of the homepage.
