St. Charles Parish, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces progress on two active projects in St. Charles Parish:

LA 52 (Paul Mallard Rd.) Major Reconstruction Project:
  • The first construction phase along the northbound side of LA 52 is expected to be complete by this weekend. This will allow the contractor to shift traffic from the southbound side of the road to the newly constructed northbound side on Monday, February 26, 2024.
  • Southbound traffic will remain stopped at Angus Dr. and not allowed through the project limits.
  • New asphalt will be installed after the utilities, drives, and sidewalks are completed on the southbound side of LA 52.
About the project: $10.9 million major reconstruction of LA 52. The project includes adding sidewalks, subsurface drainage, replacing water and sewer lines, and a complete top-level roadway resurfacing between Blueberry Hill St. and Angus Dr.

I-310 Hale Boggs Bridge Rehab Work
  • Both northbound lanes of the I-310 Hale Boggs Memorial Bridge will be opened to traffic by Monday, February 26, 2024.
  • Because of limited weather delays, contractors are anticipated to finish work a week before scheduled.
  • Barriers will remain on roadway shoulders due to upcoming cable maintenance work. The upcoming work is expected to begin this spring and will not affect traffic flow.
About the project: The roadway work on the bridge wraps up an $8.4 million concrete rehabilitation project for the entire I-310 corridor.
