Harvey Tunnel closure adjustment leads to accessible eastbound daily traffic

Harvey, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a change to the scheduled closure of the Harvey Tunnel beginning Wednesday, February 21.
- Eastbound traffic, originally scheduled to be fully closed through March 1, will only be closed to evening traffic from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastbound lanes of the Harvey Tunnel will be open to traffic daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. through March 1.
- The westbound lanes of the Harvey Tunnel will be closed through May 31, 2024, for tunnel rehabilitation.
These closures are part of the $53 million Harvey Canal Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
