UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 588 near Pioneer in West Carroll Parish
UPDATE: DOTD advises motorists that LA 588 in West Carroll Parish has been REOPENED. We appreciate your patience while this work was underway.

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Friday, February, 23, 2024, LA 588 will be closed to thru traffic approximately 1.7 miles west of its intersection with LA 17 in West Carroll Parish. This road closure is necessary to allow for the replacement of drainage culverts.
The LA 588 road closure is anticipated to last 1 week, and should be reopened Friday, March 1, 2024.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permit/Detour:
The detour route will be LA 588, LA 585, LA 577 and LA 17.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
