UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 550 over Camp Creek in Union Parish
UPDATE (2/28/2024): DOTD advises motorists that the LA 550 bridge over Camp Creek in Union Parish has been REOPENED. We appreciate your patience while these necessary repairs were underway.

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, beginning on Wednesday, February 14th, the LA 550 Bridge over Camp Creek in Union Parish will be closed for necessary bridge repairs.
The bridge will be closed approximately 1.5 miles west of LA 15 near Spearsville.
The closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be open Friday, February 23, 2024.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. All vehicles must detour using LA 550, LA 15, US 167 and LA 2.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
